Hello Forest Hill Families,

We’re excited to inform you that we will be celebrating our Grade 6s on Thursday, June 24th as they prepare for transition to grade 7 in September. This celebration will be virtual, and will recognize the dedication and accomplishments of each in-person and distance learning student through very challenging circumstances for all.

Schools across the WRDSB are planning celebrations with a consistent and equitable approach, with a focus on the values of community and learning.

As we continue to work towards creating equity of opportunity for our students, we acknowledge the extent the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the learning environments in our schools. As we adhere to strict Public Health guidelines and provide these celebrations in a safe and equitable manner, virtual celebrations across the WRDSB will refrain from drive-bys, door drop-offs, awards and gifts.

At Forest Hill, this will mean suspending our practice of gifting a combination lock to departing students. Our commemorative tree planting to honour grade 6 students, families and staff will continue as part of our Tree Generation program.

We look forward to sharing further details with you closer to June 24th.

Thank you,

Brad Hughes, Principal
Brian Wiechers, Vice-Principal
