Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Forest Hill Public School.
We hope you had a wonderful summer and that you are ready to get back into the school groove. Forest Hill staff has been working hard this week to get things up and running so we can ensure a smooth start. We know it will be a great learning journey this school year.
School begins on September 3 at 9:10 am. Our staff will greet students on the tarmac behind the school to begin our new school year. Click here to view the location of where to meet your child’s class and teacher.
When Does My Child Go to School?
All students attending in person will start on Wednesday, September 3.
Our school day starts at 9:10 AM and ends at 3:30 PM.
On the first day of school, classroom teachers will be on the tarmac with signs indicating their homeroom, beginning at 9:00 AM. Additional staff will be outside directing students and families to their appropriate teacher. Please look for signs and Forest Hill staff wearing safety vests
Who is My Child’s Teacher?
To comply with privacy legislation, class lists will no longer be posted on the outside windows or doors of your child’s school. At your convenience starting September 2 and throughout the day, you will be able to determine your child’s homeroom teacher using School-Day.
When you log into your account, click “Schools and Groups” on the blue left hand side menu, then click “Your Classes.” This will show the classes and groups your child is linked to within our school. Homeroom names are in the form of K2, 1A, 4/5A, etc.
*Note – Class lists may change due to ongoing registrations.
Once you have determined the homeroom, you can find the name of the homeroom teacher using the following list:

As we look to the new year, we want to share how thoughtfully and carefully our staff approach the creation of class lists. We consider each students’ academic needs, and social dynamics and always strive to have students placed with at least one friend. These are the guiding principles in forming our combined grade classes as well. Now that class lists are finalized, changes will not be made unless directed by the Board due to unexpected enrollment shifts. Moving even one student can create a domino effect, impacting friendships, classroom balance, and other placements. We recognize that change can be difficult but children are incredibly resilient and adapt quickly. Your support and encouragement help set a positive tone for your child’s transition and success. Parking Lot
PLEASE remember that our parking lot is for STAFF ONLY. When picking up or dropping off your child, please park on a side street and walk on to school property. We have a crossing guard and lights to help students cross Westmount Road.
Student Plans of Care
Students with a Plan of Care (anaphylaxis, epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, heart condition) in previous years or new students to Forest Hill with severe medical conditions need an updated Plan of Care for the 2025-26 school year.
For students returning to Forest Hill a draft of last year’s Plan of Care will be sent home for updating in the first week of school.
New students to Forest Hill, please email or call the office (fhl@wrdsb.ca 519-587-5480) and a set of forms will be sent out for completion and signing.
School-day
School-day is the best way to hear from us throughout the school year. Teachers also often use School-day as their way to communicate so please ensure you check here for any info.
Please ensure you have a School-day account for each child. We will be using School-day to communicate with families and the messages may differ depending on the grade. Please contact the office for instructions on signing up and the specific key code for each student.

Come see what council is all about! We are offering School Council meetings in the morning this year to better fit parent schedules.
The goals that we have for our 25/26 school council include:
- foster positive relationships with our entire parent community
- welcome the parent community into our building through volunteering (single occasions or reoccurring)
- promote student success through relationships between home and school. We believe that school councils can help us to be responsive and reflective educators.
